Review of the Aroma SmartFry XL™ Deep Fryer

One of the things that I can’t seem to get enough of is fried foods, even though they are unhealthy for me. I was so excited to try the Aroma SmartFry XL™ Deep Fryer. It is the perfect size to use at home. It has 3 baskets; one full sized basket and two half-sized baskets. There are hooks on the baskets, so that you can hook them to the side and let the oil drip off, just like in fast food restaurants. I used the deep fryer to make an entire 32 ounce bag of tater tots. It heated up quickly and I was able to set the temperature to what I thought it should be on. It has a lid that sits on perfectly so that you don’t get burned from popping grease. The timer was a nice bonus for those times where you needed to walk away from the kitchen, but you didn’t want your food to burn to a crisp.

There were some things on the Deep Fryer that could have been better. I thought the cord was too short and wished it would have been longer so that I didn’t have to sit it right next to the outlet. The part that you actually plug in to the machine is magnetic and it comes off a little to easily. I also don’t like that when the timer goes off, the heating element shuts off. I have had to add a few extra minutes on the timer just so I could check it to ensure it was done the way I liked my food before the element turned off.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the deep fryer. I see many, many fried foods in my future
